Vision & Eye Health

Globally at least 2.2 billion people have vision impairment and almost half of these cases could be prevented according to the World Health Organization. Eye Health is instrumental in almost every aspect of society: it allows a child to learn and meet developmental milestones, it allows adults to work, gain an income and contribute to society. This course will briefly review the eye anatomy and describe the most common eye diseases that affect the global population today. The purpose of this course is to provide health educators and medical professionals a review of the basic eye structures and most common eye conditions in the global health setting.
